This page sets out how guides on aiagents.org.uk are researched, written, checked and kept up to date, and how the site makes money.
How pages are written
- Each page answers its question in the first hundred words, then gives the detail.
- Each figure links to its source. Primary sources (the ICO, legislation.gov.uk, official surveys and vendor pricing pages) are preferred over commentary.
- Prices are checked on the date shown, converted to sterling where needed, and marked as approximate.
- Pages on UK law are checked against the legislation and the ICO's own publications. They explain the rules in plain English and are not legal advice.
- Each page shows when it was last updated.
How AI tools are used
This is a site about AI, and AI tools are used to help make it: to research, to draft and to produce diagrams. Every page is then checked against its sources and edited by Annie before it is published. AI is never used to invent quotes, reviews, experiences or figures, and a page is not published until its facts have been checked.
Independence
The author has no employment relationship with any AI vendor. The only financial relationships are the affiliate programmes described below, which pay a commission on sales and give the vendor no say over what is written. If that changes, it will be disclosed here and on every page it affects. Products are recommended because they fit the reader's job, never because a vendor asked.
Affiliate links and advertising
The deals pages on aiagents.org.uk use affiliate links where a seller runs an affiliate programme the site has joined, and other pages may carry them too. If you click one and buy, the site earns a commission from the seller, at no extra cost to you.
- Pages made up mainly of deals or affiliate offers are labelled "Ad" at the top, before any offer, and in any link to them from the homepage.
- Affiliate links in other articles are labelled "Ad" where they appear.
- Commission never decides what is included or how it is rated. Products that pay nothing, such as ChatGPT, Claude and free local AI apps, are covered on the same terms as products that do.
- Affiliate links never appear on pages about UK rules and data protection.
- Sponsored content or newsletter placements are labelled "Sponsored", and sponsors have no say over editorial content.
How deals are checked
- Every deal is checked against the seller's own page on the date shown.
- Prices are shown in pounds including VAT where the seller shows them. Prices set in dollars or euros are converted at the rate stated on the page, and marked as approximate.
- A "was" price is shown only when the product has genuinely sold at that price, checked against at least three months of price history. Otherwise only the current price is shown.
- Renewal prices, and offers for new customers only, are stated next to the deal.
- Deadlines are given only when the seller states one, and deals are marked "Ended" or removed on the day they finish.
- Spotted a wrong price or an expired deal? Please say so through the contact page.
Corrections and updates
If something is wrong or out of date, please say so through the contact page. Factual errors are corrected promptly and significant corrections are noted on the page.
Evidence labels on workflow guides
Our new workflow and comparison guides distinguish a documentation review, a worked example and a hands-on test. Read how we describe the evidence. A fictional example is not a recorded model result, and a vendor feature list is not a reliability benchmark. These labels do not imply that every older article has been tested hands-on.
