Anything API, from the Y Combinator start-up Notte, builds a working API for a website from a plain-English description. You say what you need, an agent explores the site, and a few minutes later you have an endpoint that returns tidy data. It is for developers and technical founders, not casual users. You get $10 of free credit, then plans start at $20 a month (about £15). It was #1 Product of the Day and of the Week on Product Hunt in March 2026. My rating: ★★★☆☆ 3/5.

What is Anything API?
Plenty of useful websites have no API. That leaves you copying data by hand or paying someone to write a scraper that breaks when the site changes. Anything API is Notte's answer. You describe the task in the app or through its MCP server. An agent agrees the inputs and outputs with you, explores the site, works out how it serves its data and deploys an endpoint. The docs say to expect 2-10 minutes.

You then call that endpoint with a Notte API key and get JSON back. Endpoints can read data, such as searching listings, or act, such as logging in and running a multi-step form. For sites that need a login, you sign in once and Notte saves the session in a profile. The browser work runs on Notte's own cloud browsers, with residential proxies and captcha solving when needed. A public marketplace lists ready-made APIs, from Hacker News posts to CNN headlines.
What makes it an agent is that it builds and repairs the tool itself. You do not write the scraper. When a call fails because the site has changed, an agent is woken to re-map the site and ship a fixed version.
How it did on Product Hunt
Anything API was #1 Product of the Day on 4 March 2026 and went on to win #1 Product of the Week.
| Launch | Date | Daily rank | Other awards | Upvotes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anything API | 4 March 2026 | #1 Product of the Day | #1 Product of the Week; #8 Product of the Month (March 2026) | 646 |
Upvotes as shown on Product Hunt's product page on 17 October 2026.
It sits on Notte's Product Hunt page, which holds four other launches from the same team, listed further down. None has a Golden Kitty Award. Upvote counts vary by a few votes between Product Hunt pages, so I have used the product page figure. This was Notte's breakout launch: its earlier and later launches ranked between #4 and #9 on the day. The result shows developers liked the idea. It does not prove the endpoints hold up on difficult sites.
What Product Hunt users said
- No review score is shown. Notte's product page has no reviews yet, so the 129 launch comments are the best guide.
- The most common praise was that it fills a real gap for sites with no public API. Several commenters said they already use Notte, and one had built an API product on top of it.
- The biggest worry was what happens when a site changes its layout, and whether failures would be silent. The self-healing feature is Notte's answer.
- People asked how it gets past captchas and bot blocking on sites like Airbnb, and one asked whether this sort of scraping respects a site's terms of service. I found no answer on the page.
- Others asked about logins, keeping sessions alive, and one-time codes for scheduled runs.
How much does Anything API cost?
Anything API runs on Notte's credit plans, with a free start and paid plans from $20 a month.

| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $10 one-off credit (about £7.50) that does not expire, 5 browsers at once, 15-minute sessions, no card |
| Developer | $20 a month (about £15) | $20 of credit each month, 25 browsers at once, 120-minute sessions |
| Startup | $100 a month (about £75) | $100 of credit each month, 100 browsers at once, 300-minute sessions, bring your own AI keys and proxies |
| Enterprise | Custom | SSO, service levels, HIPAA and on-premise deployment |
Credits pay for usage: browser sessions cost $0.01 an hour, functions $0.05 an hour, residential proxies $10 per GB (about £7.50), and AI model tokens are passed on at cost with no markup. Anything API endpoints run as Notte functions, and I found no separate price for building one. Prices are in dollars. The terms say taxes are added on top but do not name VAT. There is no annual discount, and cancelling a paid plan brings no refund.
What I like
- The promise is concrete. You describe a task and get a callable endpoint in 2-10 minutes, according to the docs.
- Endpoints repair themselves. When a call fails, an agent re-maps the site and ships a new version.
- You can start for nothing. The $10 credit needs no card and does not expire.
- Usage pricing is published and low, and AI model tokens carry no markup.
- Notte lists a SOC 2 Type II report in its trust centre, plus encryption in transit and in file storage.
- Its MCP server lets an AI agent search the marketplace, build and run APIs on its own.
What I'd want fixed
- It is not for non-developers. You need an API key and some code to call an endpoint, and the app itself is a bare builder screen.
- Self-healing only kicks in after a call has failed. The docs list proactive fixes as not yet ready.
- Captcha solving and stealth come on every plan, but the terms say nothing about respecting the websites you automate. That leaves the legal risk with you.
- The privacy policy keeps data in the US, names no sub-processors and does not mention GDPR or a data processing agreement.
- There is no demo video for Anything API on Notte's YouTube channel.
Who should use it?
Anything API suits developers, technical founders and small agencies who need data or actions from websites that lack an API, such as supplier portals, listings or booking systems. It is also a good fit if you already build AI agents and want them to reach the wider web. Skip it if you do not code. Browse AI does a similar job without code and has a free plan.
Is it safe to use? Privacy and permissions
- For sites with a login, you sign in once and Notte stores your session in a profile so later runs act as you. Passwords can sit in encrypted vaults. Treat this like handing over a key to that account.
- Servers and the central database are in the US, and the privacy policy treats using the platform as consent to that transfer. Browser session data is used only to run your automation and its replays, and is kept for your plan's retention period.
- The policy does not say whether your data trains AI models, and the terms give Notte a broad licence over content you submit. If you collect personal data with it, read AI agents and UK GDPR first.
- On the plus side, there is a SOC 2 Type II report, a trust centre and a security policy that promises to acknowledge vulnerability reports within 3 business days.
Using it in the UK
- Nothing I read limits it to the US, so you can sign up from the UK.
- Prices are in dollars with tax added on top, and VAT is not mentioned by name.
- Data is processed in the US. Only Enterprise offers on-premise deployment, and there is no UK or EU hosting option on the public plans.
Other launches from the same team
- Quaso (AI automation agent across apps and the browser), 23 July 2026, #9 Product of the Day, 150 upvotes.
- Browser Arena (open-source benchmarks for cloud browsers), 8 April 2026, #6 Product of the Day, 175 upvotes.
- Demonstrate by Notte (browser workflows to deployed automation), 22 January 2026, #4 Product of the Day, 284 upvotes.
- Notte Browser Agents (the core platform), 20 August 2025, #5 Product of the Day, 275 upvotes.
Alternatives to Anything API
- Browse AI - pick it if you want to scrape and monitor sites without code; free plan with 50 credits a month, paid from $19 a month billed yearly (about £14).
- Apify - pick it if a ready-made scraper for your site already exists in its store; free plan with $5 of monthly usage, Starter $19 a month (about £14).
- Surgeflow - pick it if you want an agent to do one-off web tasks in your own Chrome browser rather than build an API.
My verdict
| Area | Score |
|---|---|
| Usefulness | 3/5 |
| Getting started | 3/5 |
| Value for money | 4/5 |
| Trust and privacy | 3/5 |
| UK fit | 2/5 |
| Overall | ★★★☆☆ 3/5 |
If I needed regular data from a site with no API, I would spend the free $10 testing Anything API before paying anyone to write a scraper. The self-healing idea is the real draw. I would not point it at sites full of personal data until Notte publishes a clearer GDPR position.
Frequently asked questions
Is Anything API free?
You can start free. New accounts get $10 of credit (about £7.50) that never expires, with no card needed. After that, the Developer plan costs $20 a month (about £15) and includes $20 of credit.
Is Anything API safe to use?
Notte has a SOC 2 Type II report and encrypts data, which is a good sign for a young company. But data is held in the US, the privacy policy does not mention GDPR, and the terms do not mention scraping or captcha solving. If you automate other people's websites, checking their terms is down to you.
Anything API vs Browse AI: which should I choose?
Choose Anything API if you are a developer and want a callable endpoint that an agent builds and repairs for you. Choose Browse AI if you do not code and want a point-and-click scraper with a free plan.
