Beelink GTR9 Pro for local AI: a quiet 128 GB box, VAT included (2026)

Beelink GTR9 Pro product page on the Beelink UK store, October 2026

The Beelink GTR9 Pro is a Mac Studio-style mini PC with AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and 128 GB of memory, the only size sold. It ships with 96 GB set aside for the GPU, enough for 70B models at 8-bit, and ServeTheHome measured gpt-oss 120B at 31 tokens a second. Beelink's UK store sells it for £3,999 including VAT, on pre-order with about 35 days' wait. We rate it 3.5/5. See our guide to which Mac or mini PC to buy for local AI.

On this page

With 96 GB for the GPU it holds any model up to about 150 billion parameters at 4-bit, by our maths of about 0.6 GB per billion parameters.

Memory optionBiggest model at 4-bitExample modelsPublished speed
128 GB (96 GB for the GPU as shipped)About 150Bgpt-oss-120b, Llama 3.3 70B at 4-bit (42.4 GB) or 8-bit (about 74 GB), Qwen3 32B (19.4 GB)gpt-oss 120B in LM Studio: 31.41 tokens a second; Llama 3.3 70B: about 5 tokens a second, quantisation not stated (ServeTheHome). Qwen 32B Q8 in LM Studio: 6.23 tokens a second (Beelink's own figure)

Allow 2-4 GB more for a long conversation, which still leaves plenty of room for a 70B model. Mixture-of-experts models such as gpt-oss-120b read only part of their weights for each word, which is why a 120B model runs six times faster here than a dense 70B. The big Qwen3 235B-A22B needs 142.5 GB at 4-bit and does not fit.

How fast is it?

ServeTheHome tested the GTR9 Pro out of the box on Windows 11 Pro:

  • gpt-oss 120B in LM Studio: 31.41 tokens a second.
  • Llama 3.3 70B: around 5 tokens a second. The review did not give the quantisation.

Beelink's own product page quotes Qwen 32B at Q8 in LM Studio at 6.23 tokens a second.

Framework's August 2026 tests of the same chip, in llama.cpp with a 2,048-token prompt, add newer models: Qwen3.8 27B at UD-Q4_K_XL ran at 11.59 tokens a second with ROCm and 12.09 with Vulkan, and the mixture-of-experts Qwen3.6 35B-A3B at 52.13. ServeTheHome measured gpt-oss-120b at about 45 tokens a second on the Framework Desktop, so the Beelink's out-of-the-box figure is not the most this chip can do. The GMKtec EVO-X2 managed 3.7-3.8 tokens a second on Llama 3.3 70B at Q6_K. All of these machines are limited by the same 256 GB/s of memory bandwidth.

Which version should you buy?

There is only one GTR9 Pro in the UK: 128 GB of memory with a 2 TB drive, in Frost Silver, at £3,999. That is the right amount of memory for local AI on this chip, so there is no choice to get wrong.

Beelink also sells an OpenClaw edition with Ubuntu and an AI agent pre-installed, but the UK store lists only an OpenClaw SSD upgrade kit at £169. Beelink has launched a GTR9 Pro 495 with the newer Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, but only in China and still with 128 GB, so there is no reason to wait for it.

Beelink UK shows £3,999 as a sale price against £4,299, with a 30-day risk-free trial. Buy from the UK store: its price includes VAT and import charges, while the US-dollar store does not say what you would owe. I found no refurbished or education pricing.

Hidden costs

  • Waiting: it is a pre-order, and Beelink allows up to 35 days to ship, then 5-7 working days for delivery.
  • Memory you cannot add later: the 128 GB is soldered, but it is also the most this machine takes.
  • Storage: 2 TB is included, and the second M.2 slot takes up to 8 TB more.
  • Power: ServeTheHome measured 125-128 W running gpt-oss 120B.
  • Screen and keyboard: not included. No import VAT or courier fees to pay on the UK store.

Software: Ollama, LM Studio and the rest

The GTR9 Pro ships with Windows 11 Pro. ServeTheHome found several unwanted Wondershare and Edraw apps pre-installed, so plan to remove them or install a fresh copy of Windows or Linux. There is no NVIDIA CUDA and no Apple MLX; AI apps run through llama.cpp on AMD's ROCm or the Vulkan graphics interface.

  • llama.cpp: both ROCm and Vulkan backends work on this chip, and in Framework's tests neither is always faster.
  • Ollama: on Linux it supports the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 through ROCm 7. On Windows it uses Vulkan, which is on by default. See our Ollama guide.
  • LM Studio: offers both a Vulkan and a ROCm llama.cpp runtime on Windows, and it is what ServeTheHome used for its 31.41 tokens a second. See our LM Studio guide.
  • Setup step: the 96 GB GPU split is already set. To change it on Windows, use AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition (Performance, then Tuning, then Variable Graphics Memory). On Linux, AMD recommends a small BIOS reservation and raising the shared limit with its amd-ttm tool, on kernel 6.18.4 or later, Fedora 43 or Ubuntu 26.04.
  • Network: early units lost their Intel E610 10 Gb ports after a Windows update. ServeTheHome reports a later update brought them back.

Noise, power and size

  • 180 x 180 x 90.8 mm without feet and 2.34 kg, with a built-in 230 W power supply.
  • Beelink claims 32 dB at its full 140 W, using two fans and a vapour chamber.
  • ServeTheHome measured 16-25 W and 36-37 dBA at idle, in a studio with a 34 dBA noise floor. Under normal desktop use it said you do not hear it.
  • Running gpt-oss 120B it rose to 39-41 dBA and 125-128 W.
  • Beelink was founded in 2011 in Shenzhen's Nanshan District, starting with tablet software and moving on to TV boxes and, from 2017, mini PCs.
  • It sells direct through regional stores, including a UK store in pounds with UK delivery.
  • UK orders are handled at orders@bee-link.com, and returns and warranty claims at support-pc@bee-link.com.
  • It offers a three-year limited warranty for personal use. ServeTheHome noted that support matters more as these machines get dearer.

What's good

  • UK price includes VAT, delivery and any import charges, with nothing to pay at the door.
  • A three-year warranty and a 30-day return window.
  • One of the quietest of the AMD AI mini PCs in ServeTheHome's tests: 39-41 dBA running a 120B model.
  • Dual 10 Gb Ethernet, two USB4 ports, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1.
  • Fingerprint reader, four-microphone array and speakers built in.

What's not so good

  • A pre-order with up to 35 days to ship.
  • The price has more than doubled since pre-orders opened in August 2025 at $1,985; Beelink's global store now asks $4,349.
  • Only 128 GB, with no larger option in the UK.
  • Pre-installed apps you will want to remove.
  • Change-of-mind returns are at your cost, and early units had a 10 Gb network driver fault.

Who should buy it?

Buy the GTR9 Pro if you want a finished, quiet 128 GB AI box with UK pricing, VAT included and three years of cover, and you can wait a month. It suits someone who wants Windows on a desk and gpt-oss-class models at a good pace. If you want it now, the Minisforum MS-S1 MAX ships from UK stock. If price matters most, the GMKtec EVO-X2 is cheaper even after import VAT.

Buying in the UK

  • Where it comes from: Beelink's UK store sends UK orders with a UK plug, by DHL, UPS, FedEx, Royal Mail or another UK courier. Pre-orders ship within 35 days, then take 5-7 working days.
  • VAT and duty: Beelink UK states that its prices include VAT, shipping and taxes, and that no customs duty, import tax or clearance fee is collected after you order. GOV.UK says prices aimed at the public should show VAT included. Buy from the UK store: it is the only Beelink store that states UK VAT is included.
  • Warranty: three years from delivery, for personal use, handled by Beelink. Contact support before sending anything back; Beelink pays to send the repaired unit to you.
  • Returns: a 30-day return policy for unused items in good condition. You pay the return postage unless the item is faulty, and refunds reach your card 3-4 days after approval.
  • When pre-orders opened in August 2025 the GTR9 Pro cost $1,985. Framework says industry-wide memory shortages have since pushed up prices, and Beelink's UK store now asks £3,999.
  • The power button doubles as a fingerprint reader, something ServeTheHome pointed out the Mac Studio it imitates does not have.
  • Beelink has already released a GTR9 Pro 495 with AMD's newer chip in China at CNY 29,998, with no word yet on sales elsewhere.
  • GMKtec EVO-X2 - pick it for the lowest price on 128 GB, if you accept import VAT and a one-year warranty.
  • Minisforum MS-S1 MAX - pick it for UK stock today, a PCIe slot and a 192 GB option.
  • Framework Desktop - pick it for a UK company, very quiet cooling and a 192 GB option.

The GTR9 Pro is one of the nicest AMD AI mini PCs to live with, and the UK store makes buying simple. The pre-order wait and a price well above GMKtec's hold it back.
