AWS Marketplace's AI Agents and Tools category is Amazon Web Services' catalogue of AI agents, MCP servers, agent-building platforms and consulting services. It is built for businesses that already run on AWS and have technical staff. Each seller sets its own price, and many listings show it up front, from free tools to $40 (about £30) a seat a month for Perplexity. AWS adds UK VAT on many purchases. For most UK small businesses it is too technical. I rate it 3 out of 5.

What is AWS Marketplace AI Agents and Tools?
AWS Marketplace is Amazon Web Services' software store. Since July 2025 it has had a category for AI agents and tools. It covers five kinds of listing: software with built-in agents, pre-built agents, agent tools such as MCP servers and web search, platforms for building agents, and professional services from AWS partners.
You buy with your AWS account and the charge lands on your AWS bill. Listings arrive in many forms, including SaaS subscriptions, APIs, containers and machine images. Some agents and tools can run on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, AWS's service for running agents. In October 2025 AWS added more pricing options for AgentCore listings and simpler sign-in for API-based tools.
Search now has an Agent Mode, where you describe what you need in plain English. Many listings also carry AI-written summaries that explain how their pricing works.

Sellers pay AWS a listing fee: 3% on SaaS public offers, 20% on server products and 1.5-3% on private offers.
Hidden costs
- AWS infrastructure. Listing pages warn that AWS infrastructure costs may apply on top, for example when you run a container or machine image in your own account.
- Usage on top of contracts. Many contracts add usage charges. Claude Enterprise adds usage at Anthropic API rates, and Perplexity charges for usage beyond the contract.
- No refunds. Some vendors make fees non-refundable. Perplexity's listing says fees cannot be refunded or cancelled except where the law requires.
- Currency. Public offers are in US dollars. Pounds are only available on private offers negotiated with the seller.
- Set-up help. Nearly half the category is professional services. If you have no technical staff, budget for a partner to set agents up.

Selling your agent on AWS Marketplace AI Agents and Tools
- Who can list: Any AWS customer in good standing can list free products. Paid products need a business or resident in an eligible country. The UK is eligible, and UK sellers must give their VAT registration.
- Requirements: Non-US sellers provide a W-8 tax form, a VAT number and a bank account with a SWIFT code. Selling to EMEA buyers through AWS EMEA SARL needs a Know Your Customer check.
- Approval: PYMNTS reported at launch that AWS vets marketplace vendors. The seller guide does not describe a review timetable.
- Commission: 3% on SaaS public offers, 20% on server products such as containers and machine images, and 3% on data products. Private offers cost 3% under $1 million (about £752,000), 2% up to $10 million and 1.5% above that, and renewals cost 1.5%. Channel partner deals add 0.5%.
- Getting paid: Since October 2024 sellers can be paid into non-US bank accounts. Since October 2025 private offers of every pricing type can be priced and paid in GBP, EUR, JPY or AUD. Public offers stay in US dollars. Since April 2026 sellers can file UK and EU VAT invoices for deemed supply through a self-service process.
What other people rate it
- I could not find a G2, Capterra or Trustpilot rating for AWS Marketplace itself.
- Trustpilot rates AWS as a company 1.3/5 from 418 reviews (checked 16 October 2026).
- Listings carry their own reviews inside the store. In the category, Zendesk Suite shows 4.3 from 6,936 reviews and Databricks 4.6 from 1,401 (checked 16 October 2026).
What's good
- Many listings show exact prices, with each charge explained in plain terms.
- Charges land on one AWS bill, and UK VAT is handled by AWS EMEA SARL for eligible sellers.
- 256 free listings and 295 free trials let you try before you commit.
- You can filter by AWS region, and 593 listings in the category are available in Europe (London).
- Some listings link to a live Trust Center from Drata or Vanta, so you can check a vendor's security certificates before buying.
What's not so good
- It is built for technical teams. Many listings are containers, machine images or APIs.
- Nearly half the category is consulting services rather than ready-made agents.
- Public offers are only priced in US dollars.
- AWS does not vouch for vendors' descriptions. Its pages say vendors are responsible for their own product content.
- Most listings use upfront contracts: 4,641 of the 5,589 listings in the category.
Who is it for?
Use it if your business already runs on AWS, your developers build agents, or an AWS partner looks after your systems. The single bill and the London region filter are useful.
Skip it if you are a small business without technical staff. Most listings expect you to deploy software, connect APIs or hire a partner.
Using it in the UK
- AWS Marketplace works in the UK. You need an AWS account with a payment method.
- For buyers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, purchases from eligible sellers are invoiced by AWS EMEA SARL in Luxembourg, which collects UK VAT at 20% on software. If a seller has not joined that scheme, AWS Inc. invoices instead and does not collect VAT on business purchases, so you may need to account for it yourself.
- Public offers are priced in US dollars. Private offers can be in GBP.
- Where your data lives depends on the listing. You can filter for products in the Europe (London) region, but SaaS agents run wherever the vendor hosts them, so check each listing.
Interesting facts about AWS Marketplace AI Agents and Tools
- AWS expected about 50 launch partners for the category and got around 900, according to its marketplace chief.
- You can buy Salesforce's Agentforce through AWS Marketplace, where it is a featured listing.
- Many listings now include AI-written pricing summaries and answers to common buyer questions.
- When AWS Marketplace launched in 2012, it sold pre-configured server software. By 2025 AWS was calling it a one-stop shop for agents.
Alternatives to AWS Marketplace AI Agents and Tools
- Microsoft Agent Store - pick it if you want agents inside Microsoft 365 and Teams without deploying anything.
- Google Cloud agent marketplace - pick it if your business runs on Google Cloud or Gemini.
- Smithery - pick it if you mainly want MCP servers to plug into your own agents.
